Getting started
01What is a craft?+
A “craft” in Counter-Strike refers to a weapon skin with stickers applied to it. On LoadoutCraft, a craft is a fully visualized design: a specific weapon, a specific skin, placed stickers, a chosen wear value, and a pattern seed. Every craft gets its own URL you can share.
02Do I need to sign in to use the studio?+
No. You can open the studio anonymously and design crafts freely. You only need to sign in with Steam if you want to save a craft, share it with others, or have it appear in your portfolio.
03Why Steam sign-in instead of email?+
Counter-Strike skins live in Steam. Tying your LoadoutCraft account to your Steam profile means your designs link back to your real identity in the CS community — and we never need to handle passwords. We use Steam OpenID, the same protocol the official Steam Community uses.
04Is this free?+
Yes, all features are free. We may eventually monetize through optional referral links to legitimate marketplaces (e.g. when comparing skin prices), but the studio itself stays free.
Design & the studio
01What weapons and skins are available?+
All standard CS2 weapons and every paint released by Valve up to early 2026. The catalog currently includes 35 weapons and over 4,000 skins. Knives, gloves, and agents are not yet supported but are on the roadmap.
02How accurate is the preview?+
Sticker placement, scale, rotation, and wear are pixel-accurate to where they would appear in-game. The skin pattern uses Valve’s public asset library. Float values affect how the skin looks in our preview the same way they do in-game.
03Can I import an existing craft via inspect link?+
Inspect-link import is on the near-term roadmap. Currently you can clone any LoadoutCraft craft directly into the studio by clicking CLONE TO MY DESIGN on its page.
04My craft looks weird — why?+
If you’re viewing a craft from before March 2026, it was rendered by a previous engine and may show a watermark or rendering inconsistencies. We’re progressively re-rendering the catalog. New crafts (yours and anything created in 2026) use the current renderer and look correct.
Sharing & ownership
01Who owns my crafts?+
You do. You retain all rights to your specific design choices. By publishing on LoadoutCraft, you grant us a non-exclusive license to display, host, and share your craft on our platform and in social previews. You can delete your crafts at any time from your dashboard.
02Can I sell or trade designs?+
A craft on LoadoutCraft is a visualization, not a tradeable game item. To realize a design in-game you’d need to acquire the actual skin and stickers through Steam and apply them yourself. We’re working on a price-comparison feature to help you cost out what that would take.
03How do embeds and OG previews work?+
Every craft has Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags, so links unfurl with the cover image on Discord, X, Reddit, Slack, etc. Use the EMBED button on any craft page to copy iframe HTML for your own site or blog.
Account & data
01How do I delete my account?+
Email support@loadoutcraft.comfrom the email address tied to your Steam profile, or include your Steam ID. We’ll delete your account and all associated crafts within 7 working days.
02What data do you collect?+
The minimum needed to make the product work: your Steam ID, public Steam name and avatar, the crafts you save, and standard request logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and rate limiting. See the privacy policy for the full list.
03Is my browsing tracked? Are there ads?+
No third-party advertising trackers. We use a single first-party session cookie for sign-in and a privacy-preserving analytics tool to count anonymous page views. No data is sold.
Technical
01What browsers are supported?+
Latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. The studio uses HTML5 Canvas heavily, so very old browsers may struggle. Mobile works for browsing but the studio is designed for desktop / tablet with a pointer.
02Is there an API?+
A read-only public API exists at
api.loadoutcraft.com/api/v1 for fetching crafts, weapons, and stickers. Authenticated write endpoints will require API keys in a future release. Contact us if you have a use case in mind.About this site
01Are you affiliated with Valve or Counter-Strike?+
No. LoadoutCraft is an independent fan project. Counter-Strike, CS2, all weapon and sticker designs, and related trademarks are property of Valve Corporation. We use publicly available assets under fair use for the purpose of preview and design.
02I think I found a bug / I want a feature.+
